This is Mrs. Creech's 19th year in education. Before becoming a classroom teacher, she held a variety of roles within a school setting, including serving as a K-8 paraprofessional, recess and lunch monitor, one-on-one aide, RTI aide, PE teacher, and substitute teacher. After graduating from Eastern Illinois University and earning her master's degree from St. Xavier University, she began her classroom teaching in Illinois, where she taught for 12 years.
Mrs. Creech then took six years away from the classroom to stay home with her three daughters before returning to fifth-grade teaching. Her passion for supporting both students and teachers eventually led her to her current roles as an instructional coach and dean at Red Cedars.
Mrs. Creech believes, "Every student can learn, just not in the same way and sometimes not in the same day. Students must also be taught how to think, not what to think." She is passionate about learning new teaching methods and exploring different learning styles to continually enhance her professional practice and support student growth.
Mrs. Creech lives in St. John with her husband, their three daughters, and their Doberman, Ace. Her oldest daughter is an eighth grader at HCMS, while her twin daughters are fifth graders at Red Cedars. Outside of school, she can usually be found at a softball field or a volleyball or basketball court cheering on her daughters. Whenever she has free time, she enjoys reading a good book.
Mrs. Creech's favorite part of her job is working alongside teachers and celebrating the positive things happening in classrooms every day. She feels incredibly fortunate to work with some of the hardest-working educators, who tirelessly strive to create classrooms where every student feels valued, challenged, and inspired to learn.
